Adventures in Knitting // Cashmere + Patterns

Gitane patterns Mid Pink (top) & Sea Green (bottom) // designed by: Marylene Lynx

If you're a knitter/crocheter like me, you might be a bit of a pattern hoarder. uh-huh... it's all good. I would never judge. Patterns are a sublime way to appease my secret inner hoarder... they're digital, they'll never fill up my garage—or living room, for that matter—and you never know when you're going to find that perfect yarn to pair with that pattern you found forever ago... Speaking of the perfect yarn... well, let's not get started on my "stash." ;D

So, I've always, always wanted to make a cashmere sweater, and since I was such a good girl last year, I got some amazing Jade Sapphire neon pink (Pink Panther) 2-ply for Christmas from Purl Soho (p.s. their blog is wonderful)—big thank you to the Mr. It wasn't enough to make a sweater, but I will never turn down cashmere!
Then last week, I opened my email to see Purl was having a sale... a sale that included their Jade Sapphire line! XD They didn't have anymore of the neon pink 2-ply, meh, but they did have red, orange and yellow... Oooo how to decide?! I went with two hanks of the softest buttery yellow called Charlie Brown. The thought of pairing it with the neon pink kept me coming back to spring and lemonade. A yummy combo indeed!
And all at once, I had enough for a sweater! Oh, but what sweater?! Let the pattern hunt begin!

Now, I'm not the kind of knitter who tends to use the "suggested" yarn with any pattern. And, yes, sometimes that leads me to undesirable results. But all the same, I gots to be me. So when I ran across these two oh-so-lovely patterns by Marylene Lynx on Ravelry. Designed to be knitted with a fine lace weight yarn, I thought, one of these might work with my cashmere! I'd have to slightly alter whichever one I use because I'd only be working with two colors, but nevertheless... Let the adventure begin!
