my tipi dream

Lately, I've been daydreaming of the wilderness. Perhaps I've been indoors for too long. A recent fascination with arrows and triangles and woodland landscape has been leading me to seriously considering making a tipi. A big one—for our yard, something like 12-15 ft. tall. A big project, yes, but ultimately rewarding us with an outdoor space that we can use year round and if this kid can do it?! Plus, causing the neighbors to think I'm crazy would just be added bonus ;)
In my researching the tipi, I found this website, Shelter, to be particularly helpful. They offer a printable pattern (albeit a mini one you'd have to blow up once printed) and instructions, which all seem very doable. Further down the page the webmaster lists some additional links to books and information on tipi making. There is also a link to Nomadics Tipi Makers where you can buy one of their beautiful handmade tipis, and they are simply gorgeous.

Any other tipi lovers out there?
