back in the saddle...

Well, I tell ya, a lot has been going on around here despite my lack of posts. The big one was a tough family situation that took the wind right out of my sails. I struggled with whether or not to share it on the blog, and as I searched for the words time just flew right by. We have had the time now to grieve and I can say without too many tears that after trying to have a baby for almost two years, we had finally gotten pregnant. But as much as I'd hoped I'd be able to share good news with the world, it was just not the time. Three weeks after getting that elusive BFP, or big fat positive as I've come to learn, our pregnancy ended with a natural miscarriage. It was very sad, devastating in fact, but, in hindsight, at least now we know we can get pregnant, which was beginning to be the ever present question looming in my mind.

So just as time keeps movin' on so will we keep trying. And I just know it won't be long until we will be shouting the good news from the highest blog mountaintop!

But for now, life is finally getting back to normal. I spent the day editing photos for flashback posts; I've completed several knitting and crocheting projects, there have been a couple birthdays and we spent a weekend camping at Maleakahana on the North Shore, and I want to share all those fun things with you.

Moving forward, this weekend I fly home to Texas for three weeks to visit my family, and I just can't wait for all those hugs. LJ will meet me there the following week and together we'll go to San Antonio to see his family. We'll also spend a couple days in my favorite Texas town, Austin! And then right when we get back, LJ and I will be moving out of our little apartment space in LJ's parent's home and into our own little cottage rental in Kailua town. We are soooo excited! I can hardly stand the waiting. But then I am reminded, all good things in time...

I am so sorry to hear about your heartache because I know how hard it is to want a baby so badly and see months pass by with no result. To have a baby and lose it is a true loss. I am happy for you that you are optimistic for the future because beautiful things lie ahead for you and your awesome family- I can feel it! Love to you and everything you create! Come say hi next time you're on the North Shore!
