It's no secret. I am slightly obsessed with all things miniature. Whatever it is, it's soooooo cuuute! Put that together with my natural tendency to "collect" things and well, it's a good thing they are a really really tiny!
Right now we are living in a small space, and so I don't have room to display all my little trinkets and toys. I wound up putting most of them in a round fishbowl that I just have on one of my book shelves. The rest are in boxes, sadly hidden, out of sight.
I miss them. So I decided to photograph them.
I read somewhere, a while ago, that one way to downsize your "collections"—you know, the kind of collections that spend their lives in a dark box somewhere so you never get to enjoy them—is to take photos of them. Frame and display those photos and you get to enjoy your favorite things everyday! And unless they are priceless treasures, of course, sell or donate them. Letting go is hard, believe you me, I know. There is a part of me that longs to live a space like
this while another would love to have a space like
this and even another part of me totally digs
this (especially that black chandelier). But two out of those three would require me to have most of my belongings in storage. Still I dream... that someday I will have a space that is both cozy and uncluttered.
Until then... most of my collections don't take up too much space. Unless you count the magazines? Oh geez... don't even get me started on the magazines.

If I were allergic to adorableness I would be dead halfway through that post! I want the mouse with cheese on my office desk, and I want to glue Hedwig to my car dash.

Awww, that's so awesome. =] I love your collection of little guys. You know what "Homies" are? You can buy them in those machines at the movie theater or grocery store for $0.50. Anyway, they were funny and tiny and I used to collect those.
@Jamiei totally know what homies are! i use to have some too :D i used to spend a couple bucks in change every time i'd go to the grocery in the toy machines! i'll have to post more pics of some of my mini treasures!
