I need at least one more of these beauties before I can have you over for tea, tea for two.
I found a treasure trove of them at a favorite shop of mine here in Honolulu. It sits on a sharp corner of Kapahulu. Its name? Peggy's Picks, and if you are ever visiting or if you live here and haven't been, you simply must go!
Peggy is a reseller. She is also a traveler, and her shop is stocked full of carvings, jewelry and unique items from Indonesia, Asia and Mexico, as well as vintage pieces she picks up from estate sales and the like. While my sister was visiting a few weeks ago we took a trip to Peggy's. She wanted to pick up a few gifts for family and I'm always down to go. As I wandered around the shop, birdcages and flying mermaids overhead, the smell of incense lulling me, I rounded a corner and there it was. An entire case of pretty tea cups paired with their matching saucers just waiting for me to choose which one would be mine. I chose this lovely Victorian inspired one.
I love the idea of having a collection of random mismatched tea cup/saucer sets. Have you starting any new collections lately?
